With a combined musical experience of over fifty years, this group of four is fast becoming the newest local sensation. | The Stringrays are a 5 piece band who have been playing an eclectic mix of acoustic/electric country-fried rock and boogie with 4 part harmonies in the Golden Isles since 2004. They were voted local band of the year in 2007 and 2008 by Elegant Island Magazine. John Debruhl plays acoustic/electric guitar, harmonica and sings lead/background vocals. David Ray "Hairy Dave" Dockery plays acoustic/electric mandolin and sings background vocals. Gordon Strother plays bass guitar and sings background vocals. Tommy Allen plays lead acoustic/electric and slide guitar and sings lead and background vocals. Rounding out the quintet is Greg Hawthorne, who plays drums/ percusion and sings lead and background vocals. |
